Why donate milk to The Milk Bank?
When you donate milk to The Milk Bank, you become a lifesaver for infants just like Charlotte, who was born six weeks prematurely. Her mother Lindsey had to have lifesaving surgery immediately after birth, which impacted her ability to lactate.
The Davis family learned about donor milk while Charlotte was in the NICU and felt immediate relief knowing Charlotte would still be able to receive the nutrients and antibodies breast milk provides.
Charlotte spent 12 days in the NICU and relied on pasteurized donor human milk from The Milk Bank during her stay. “I was not physically able to produce milk, so Charlotte had donor milk to help her get stronger and graduate the NICU,” said mom Lindsey. “We are SO thankful for the milk donors!”
