Uzazi Village and The Milk Bank Open the First Milk Express in Kansas City
New program expands access to safe donor breast milk, supports infant health and health equity
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Uzazi Village is proud to announce the grand opening of its Milk Express in partnership with The Milk Bank.
The Milk Express is now open to the public at Uzazi Village, located at 4232 Troost Avenue, Kansas City, MO 64110. “We deeply believe for every family, a healthy baby. For every baby, a healthy family,” said Clarisa Evans, Director of Clinical Services at Uzazi Village. “By providing access to safe donor milk through this Milk Express, we are improving the health of infants across our community while supporting equitable access for families in need.”
The Milk Express is a distribution hub where parents can pick up orders of Pasteurized Donor Human Milk. Orders can be made on The Milk Bank’s website and picked up at Uzazi Village on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays between 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Those who use the Milk Express site are asked to call ahead for pickup time at 816-541-3718.
This is The Milk Bank’s 4th Milk Express in Missouri, and the first to open in Kansas City. “We greatly appreciate Uzazi Village’s dedication to improving infant health,” said Freedom Kolb, CEO of The Milk Bank. “Their Milk Express will ensure those who need access to safe donor milk in their community can access it quickly and easily.
